Generally, there are 6 types
of limousines.
1)
Luxury sedans - The standard is a Lincoln Towncar. The
L-Series is made specifically for the transportation industry.
2)
Stretch Sedans - Stretched to allow more legroom or for additional
features. A very formal option.
3)
6-passenger stretch limousines - fits 4-6 people, depending on
design and size of people.
4)
8-passenger stretch limousines - fits 6-8 people, depending on
design and size of people.
5)
10-passenger stretch limousines - fits 8-10 people, depending on
design and size of people.
6)
12-18 passenger limousines and stretch specialty vehicles (SUV's) - these
limousines rent at a premium due to limited availability, where SUV's
will naturally cost more than a standard limousine.
In the last few years, "Limo" busses have come to the market and were
introduced for the party segment. Many LimoBus companies are now
courting the Wedding segment and even though they don't provide a "formal"
exterior presentation, if you simply want to move a lot a people, these can
serve your need. Considerations for an informal party bus might be
whether you want a bus showcased in front of the church during your wedding,
the informal "party" stigma and presentation, and it's place in your
photography.
Generally
speaking, if you are renting a 10-passenger limousine, the vehicle
seating can accommodate 10-people of smaller or average size (150 lbs is
a good maximum measurement) tightly
depending on how the vehicle interior was designed. Please be advised
that most 10 passenger vehicles cannot accommodate 10 people if
they are adults. You may want to seek a larger vehicle in such cases.
Generally speaking, you should subtract 2 from the vehicle rating for
average sized people for
maximum comfort. Take careful consideration not only to how many,
but as to whom is riding in the limousine to determine what size vehicle to
rent.
